Case - [01016] HR Zone Data no longer accurate after ~10 minutes

Details

Reference:01016
Type:Issue
Product:hHRPie 7.0 (22 April 2020)
Title:HR Zone Data no longer accurate after ~10 minutes
Device:Vivoactive 4S
Priority:MajorMajor
Raised On:11 June 2020 19:22
Raised By:dearbhailkirwan
Status:Open-Development-Ready-Closed
Description:

When tracking an activity with hHRPie, the zone data appears accurate for ~10mins but then stays stuck on the one zone.
Linked below are screenshots of the HR chart for two activities with the hHRPie zone data overlayed - they appear to match up for roughly the first 10 minutes but then the zone data stays constant in one zone for the remainder in spite of fluctuations in the HR outside the boundaries of that zone

Thanks for the information. Has this happened on all activities? Also, can you let me know if this is a recent problem? Plus it would also be good to know how the Heart Rating is being provided (strap or device)? Thanks

Thanks for the response, see below: - Has this happened on all activities? I think so - I recorded a few cycles with it and it happened each time, and today tried changing the zone profile to gen.

On general seeing I did an indoor row and still saw the same thing happening.I only recently downloaded the app, I recorded my first activity with it on 7th June and the error occurred.

The HR data was coming from the watch for nearly all of my workouts but I tried pairing it with a wahoo TICKRx chest strap and the same bug happened

Thanks. I’ve fixed the website posting bug! Did the HR remain, even with the zone being incorrect?

Oh great, thanks! Im not sure how you mean - do you mean did the live HR data reported by the app appear accurate? Or are you referring to the HR chart in the recorded activity summary, or something else?

Thanks. I am interested to see if the App is reporting a Heart Rate during use? I''ve seen situations where the Heart Rate is recorded, but not passed onto the running Application.

Apologies for the delay, I kept forgetting to check this when training. No it looks like the heart rate reported by the app when its running gets stuck on the same number, e.g. my HR reported by the chest strap was bouncing around 160-170 and the watch app was reporting constant 117

Thanks. I will contact Garmin, as it appears the Heart Rate is not being passed to the Application. I will let you know what they say.
