* Field a Data is dependent on the accuracy of the GPS Data
A Data Field which shows your maximum gradient based on a configurable distance.
The configurable settings are:
- Frequency: The distance (in metres) for the grade to be calculated. The default is 100 metres. Shorter distances will give more updates, but with a greater chance of variation.
- Filter Above: Used to filter out percentages above a value, which handles any incorrect GPS readings. The default is 33%
- Ignore Poor GPS Data: When the GPS data quality drops, the data field can ignore, which stops the possibility of incorrect readings.
- Display Mode: Display the value as percent, ratio, metres per kilometres or feet per mile.
- Reset on each new Lap: Reset the Data when the Lap button is pressed.
- FIT Recording: Turn on or off the FIT recording option. This can save battery and save when using the Smart Recording device setting.
- Negative Grade: Change the operation to work as the minimum, not maximum grade.
The Frequency Setting (in metres) will be displayed as a reminder before the first gradient is processed.
The options can be changed within Garmin Express on your desktop or mobile device. See the following link for more details https://bit.ly/3geonX7
