27 November 2018 11:47 AAdmin | Hi, This has been considered before, and is tricky to implement, as the start and pause button is shared with the next period button. Therefore we are not sure how you would be able to distinguish between pausing injury time and finishing the period. Happy to consider recommendations. |
21 January 2019 21:45 KKenders | Change next period transition to long press (2seconds maybe?) or double quick press, so pause can still be short press. The issue I have is in rugby even after allotted 40 minutes is up play continues until the ball is made dead and there may be stoppages for injuries etc during this period. Loved using this so far this season though so thanks! |
22 January 2019 09:23 AAdmin | Thank you for the feedback. I have a number of App's n the store and have tried on others to detect a long or short press, and unfortunately it is not possible. I will continue to investigate. |
13 March 2019 22:02 KKenders | Would a double or even triple press not work to end period for this?Or even a confirmation message that appears when paused after the normal running clock has finished but there is still time left due to stoppages asking if to end period or continue? Other suggestion would be to change when the period ends to when both timers have reached their end not just the running clock that continues through stoppages (or base this on the green timer screen which shows actual time elapsed) The issue I am finding is if I have stopped play for say 2 minutes in the 40 then in the 38th minute of actual playing time I need to stop play again the period ends instead of pausing. This is due to the running clock having already reached 40 minutes. I then have to try to remember exactly how much time was left and use another watch to run this as a timer. |
18 March 2019 16:46 AAdmin | I am going to try the double-tap. My biggest worry is memory, as the App is very close to the limit for First Generation devices (such as Vivoactive). Also, as existing users will expect the single press to move periods, I will need to add as an option. |

18 March 2019 19:05 AAdmin | Started testing. Noticed something that may catch users out. If you’ve recorded 3 minutes of injury/overtime, then play all these. When you pause the timer, it won’t go above zero until you’ve caught up. |
18 March 2019 19:52 AAdmin | Had to switch to a long press, as a double press was getting picked up at the end and saving without a user choice. |
19 March 2019 06:45 KKenders | Thanks for your work with this I look forward to trying it out! |
19 March 2019 19:05 AAdmin | Testing completed on Simulator. However on device the long-press doesn't work, and you can't complete a period. Trying double-press. |
