Description:

Hi. Would love to say it's a great app. But unfortunately when clicking the "back" button 3 times, as directed, the app then crashes my Forerunner 235. The screen goes off and the watch reboots. I was at hockey training tonight and wasn't able to change the sport from indoor soccer, but figured it was close enough. I let the app run from start to end of training. Clicked the back button 3 times when I finished, and it crashed my watch!

Hi, Sorry to hear you are experiencing a problem. I will investigate and get back to you.

Hi, I've tested and can't repeat the issue. It is not possible for Developed Apps to Reboot the device, so it must be a major failure in the Garmin IQ system - so I have contacted Garmin directly for advice.

In the meantime - you should only need to press Back 3 times to abort a session. Once the session completes normally, save, then only a single Back will exit.

So how do I do stop/end a session and how do I change the activity? I find myself having to press the menu button 3 separate times before it will stop the activity and ask me if I want to save our discard the activity. And yeah the device definitely reboots after pressing back 3 times to abort.

For Hockey, you press the Select/Lap button to 1.End 1st Half, 2.End the Break, 3.End 2nd Half. This will then give you the Save/Discard option and provide a Summary.

Ah ok. Thank you. But how do I change the activity? And, as it was training, there's really only one period.

Comment08 March 2017 14:25

AAdmin

I am sorry, this isn't currently supported.

AAdmin

I've just seen your feedback, do you still want any help?

Comment08 March 2017 20:48

Zzenaj

Are you saying you can only log "soccer indoor"? I thought you could change the sport!

Comment08 March 2017 21:08

AAdmin

You can change the sport, just it has to have 2 halves or 4 quarters.

Comment08 March 2017 22:03

Zzenaj

Yeah but how do I actually do that?

Comment08 March 2017 22:10

AAdmin

As per the instructions. Press menu and page through the options.

Comment09 March 2017 10:44

Zzenaj

Nope. This simply changes the data fields screens. 10 pages of screens. No change of activities or changing between 2 periods or 4.

Comment09 March 2017 11:23

AAdmin

It's on the very first screen. I've just changed mine from Soccer Indoor to Soccer Outdoor

Sorry mate. But your app doesn't work intended of directed on my Forerunner 235. Can't change sport at any point. I've also uninstalled, rebooted the watch, reinstalled and still no difference. I can't change the sport and the app still causes my 235 to reboot after pressing the back button 3 times.

I am sorry that you are experiencing problems. I have tested the App in the 235 simulator, and on a real Fenix and Vivoactive devices that I own, with no problems. In addition, I use the App twice a week when playing football. GARMIN have confirmed the reboot is an issue on there side, for which I have no control, and they are investigating. The sport can be selected on the first page of the menu, where the selection starts at the current setting. The App was delivered in my spare time and provided for you for free, and I make no money on this, for this reason I can't afford to own all devices.

Hi, Garmin would like to analyse the file called ERR_LOG.TXT which can be found on your device. If you connect the Watch to a computer, can you please send me the file to support @ hsoftware.info Thanks

Hi. Look, I appreciate the help you have given. I'm simply trying to explain to you the behaviour of your app on my particular device. I know you haven't been able to replicate the issues. But it is what I have experienced. I work in IT and understand that sometimes things behave differently and it's hard to identify when the issue can't be replicated

The Log File was provided to Garmin on the 11th March. Initial feedback, is an issue with the Firmware on the 235. Awaiting a formal response.
